HTRSA Mournes the Loss of Ken Hunt

Ken HuntIt is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved board member Ken Hunt. He, like many families, began his HTRSA time here with his sons Matt & Chris as they began playing for our league. He coached them for many years here as they climbed through the divisions. It is where teammates turned into life-long friends for our sons and family alike. Ken's love for soccer didn't end when the boy's stopped playing. In fact he cheered on both sons as they coached for our league and at the High School level and certainly attended excursions to watch Soccer whether it be Red Bulls, Union and/or Team USA.

It was Ken's, along with wife Lucia's, love for the game and strong civic Community involvement that led his entire family to volunteer their time here at HTRSA. Currently holding the position as Treasurer the last 3yrs that was not "the only hat" Ken wore around this league. He pitched in where, and for whatever was needed. From concession helper to corner flag retrieval, from planning/ executing things around the league, to filling in for a Coach or Referee, Ken Hunt made himself available. He started his weekends here early to help set up and was usually back late to close everything back down until next weekend rolled around. He could be found on the grounds eagerly watching and cheering on our soccer athletes or catching a quick chat with parents, friends, and other board members. At the end of the night it was Ken who could be found quietly and respectfully taking our flag down and folding it to be put away until next weekend. He loved his family and friends deeply, had many other interests, hobbies, and talents but always had a special place in his heart for soccer and HTRSA.

We here at HTRSA cannot begin to express the profound sorrow we feel at losing not only a great friend, but an amazing part of our league. Please keep his Wife Lucia and his children Matthew, Brianna, & Christopher as well as his extended family in your thoughts and prayers. May his memory be eternal and his love for soccer, inspire all of us.

With Deepest Condolences and Heartfelt Love,

The HTRSA Board & Family
