FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: WHAT IS MY PLAYER'S AGE DIVISION? _____
A: Your player's age division is determined by the player's age on OCTOBER 1 of the playing year. For example a player who has turned 8 before October 1, would play in the U-10 (Under 10) division which is Division 5. HTRSA Soccer runs a calendar season Spring to Fall. Although it depends on registration numbers, generally what ever division/age group your player was in during the Spring season season is the age group he will be in during the Fall season. The registration page has a list of the age divisions and the corresponding birth dates for the current season. In no case may a player younger than 4 years old register for the HTRSA soccer league. Go to the page for the HTRSA Division Age Chart.
Q: How do I register my son to play for HTRSA?

A: There are currently three (3) options to register your player.

We hold in-person registrations at our HTRSA Complex of Yardville-Allentown Road, one in February and two in March. We can only accept cash, money order,  or check during the in-person registration.

In addition we have an on-line registration process which can be done from the comfort of your home! Registration online is quick and easy! Payment can be made by with the convenience of your credit card.

Or you may print out our registration form and mail it in with a check.

Check out our REGISTRATION PAGE for more detailed information.

Q: What Equipment is needed to play?
A: Soccer does not require much in the way of equipment! Each player must have a pair of soccer shin guards, soccer socks that cover the shin guards, soccer shorts or pants that do not have snaps or zippers, and soccer cleats. If cleats are purchased be sure that they are soccer cleats, as they are different from baseball cleats. Baseball cleats will not be allowed on the field. Each player will receive an HTRSA Team jersey along with socks prior to the first game.  If your son wears glasses to play, he MUST have a pair of safety rated glasses or goggles to play with us.  An athletic supporter is also recommended, but is not mandatory.
Q: When and where will the team practices be?
A: Each coach sets their own practice schedule. The league has no control or knowledge of when any given team holds practice or where the practice is held. Some teams practice at local schools others at township parks. Players will not be moved based on when or where a particular team practices. Once a team roster is set players will not be moved.
Q: How can I help?

A: HTRSA needs help in all areas from coaching, field setup and tear down, concession workers , referees and more. HTRSA depends on parent volunteers to run our program. Without your help we can not operate. We especially need volunteer coaches, field setup, field tear down , and referees. Can you spare a few hours each week, or even once or twice each season to help and be involved with your children?

Can your child only practice on a certain day or at a specific time? Then volunteer to be the coach, you get to pick the day and time of your practices.

We have programs available to teach anyone that wants to be involved how to do any of the jobs we need done. It really is not as hard as it looks, and it is fun and rewarding, volunteer today! Fill out the volunteer information on the registration form, or contact any HTRSA eboard memeber at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   or the manager of the concession stand on game day!

Q: Can I register my player LATE?

A: HTRSA late registrations are accepted on a first come first placed basis. A player is considered a late registratant for the Spring Season if registration is received after March 15 and considered late for tha fall season if registration is received after August 15. If a player's registration is received after the deadlines they are NOT guaranteed a spot on a team. All late registrations MUST be accompanied by a $20 late fee per player.

Any boy not placed on a team after the teams are made and considered full are placed on the waiting list (player pool). If one month after the start of the season, a boy is still in the player pool he may apply for a refund on the registration fee without losing his place in the Pool. If a boy is placed after receiving the the refund, he will be required to pay the full registration fee before he can play on a team.

Q: Is there a Volunteer Requirement?
A: HTRSA is an all volunteer run association. In order to continue to run the quality program we need your help! The HTRSA EBoard approved a program that requires each family to be willing to assist in the concession stand at the HTRSA Complex for one game for each of your sons registered. Without you help we cannot run this quality program without raising our fees. So if your player's coach asks for a parent volunteer to help out in the snack stand for a game please help out. In addition to your required time we will gladly accept any other time commitment you can make to the league. It is only through your continued efforts that our Soccer Association can continue to grow!
Q: Can I request my son to play on his friend's team?
A: Requests on registrations for Divisions 5 and up will be ignored. Please do not ask for special team assignments as they will not be honored, nor will a fee refund be issued when your request is not honored. In Divisions 7 and 6 we will try and honor requests, but no guarantees can be made, sometimes it is not possible to honor all requests. In the Divisions 7 and Division 6 only one request per child can be made, and all requests must be mutually made. For example If Johnny requests to play with Jack - Jack must also indicate on his form that he wants to play with Johnny. If more than one request is on the form this will invalidate the request, if both parties involved do not request each other this will invalidate the request, late registrations with requests on them will not be honored. Brothers playing in the same age division are placed together. We start working on teams right after the deadline and late registrations are placed as room allows.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding regarding requests. We are expecting 1000+ players this season and it is nearly impossible to honor requests. The idea behind trying to honor requests in Divisions 6 and 7 is that it may be easier for a those young players to commit to play if he can play with a friend.
